# Delete domain record

`DELETE https://api.instacloud.com/orgs/{orgId}/domains/{domainName}/records/{recordId}`

**Token scope:** `account` · `org` — read-only tokens refused (not a GET).

Remove a DNS record. One a hostname still claims is refused — it leaves the zone with that hostname; a managed record no hostname claims may go.
