Introduction

InstaCloud is the cloud infrastructure built from the ground up to serve agents.

Traditional devtools were built by humans to serve humans. When a swarm of agents operates the infrastructure, that model has to change: environments must clone fast and be disposable, credentials can't live in prompts, and every operation has to be legible to agents, not a dashboard.

InstaCloud provides the three basic primitives, rebuilt on those terms: database (real Postgres), storage (S3-compatible buckets), and compute (containers, run in microVMs on the hosted platform). Serverless, branchable, and built for your agent to do everything on top.

Start here

  1. Install the CLI

    npx
    npx insta@latest agent setup

    npm
    npm install -g insta

    Shell installer (macOS/Linux)
    curl -fsSL https://agents.instacloud.com | sh

The npx path also wires up any coding agents on your machine; npm installs just the CLI.

  2. Deploy your app

Open your coding agent (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or any agent the setup wired) in a directory with a Dockerfile and tell it:

    Your prompt
Deploy this app on InstaCloud with a Postgres database wired in.

You complete the one-time login; the agent drives the rest. The result is a running app on its own URL, with its database connection injected. Under the hood the agent runs the insta CLI, which you can also drive by hand.

  3. Keep going

The quickstart walks through each step, including your first branch; agent setup covers what the agent wiring installs. From there, the primitives: Postgres, storage, and compute.
